A taxi driver remembers a man who came from Copenhagen to Visby for a 24-hour visit. He stayed overnight at a hotel, took a quick taxi ride around Visby and ended up spending 16,000 kronor on vast quantities of woollen and lambskin products… This may be an extreme example, but there’s no doubt that Gotland has a wealth of tempting shops, both in Visby and the countryside.
